Geography of Mexico.

With a total surface of 2 million km² approximately, Mexico divides its borders with the U.S.A. in north, Guatemala and Belize in the south. It is in addition bordered by the Atlantic Ocean on its east frontage and by the Pacific Ocean on its western one.

2 mountainous culminating with 3.000 meters and directed chains north-western/south-eastern cross the country: the Western Madre Sierra (prolongation of the Californian Nevada Sierra) and the Eastern Madre Sierra (prolongation of the Rocky Mountains).

Between the 2 extends the Mexican Plate. Let us recall that the town of Mexico City in the center of the plate is with more than 2.000 meters of altitude.

The rivers are very unequally distributed in Mexico where the population mainly installed in north and the center has less than 10% of the resources. The river principal Rio Bravo delimits the border with the neighbor of the north which names it Rio large.
